Application Deadlines

These are the priority deadlines for admission. After these dates, applications are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

U.S. Students
  • Fall: May 1
  • Spring:  November 1
  • Summer:  March 1
International Students
  • Fall: February 15 for fall 2011, December 1 for fall 2012 and beyond
  • Spring:  September 15
  • Summer:  January 15

Online Certificate Application Checklist

  • Online application. International students, however, should apply through the Indiana University Bloomington Office of Admissions. All students should choose SPEA Connect Graduate Certificate for their program.
  • One official transcript from each college you attended other than IU.
  • Three letters of recommendation, preferably from faculty members.
  • GRE or GMAT scores. Make sure to have them sent to IU Bloomington: institution code 1324, department code 2204.
  • Statement of purpose. In the online application, answer the departmental questions and leave the personal statement blank. The average length is two pages. Feel free to combine the two essay questions into one statement.
  • Resume or CV, e-mailed to speainfo@indiana.edu with the subject line “Application Resume.”
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores if you’re an international student. Our institution code is 1324 and our department code is 94.
  • The application fee: $55 for domestic students or $65 for international students, paid by credit card when you submit your application.

Admission Status

International students can check application and admission status in OneStart. Domestic applicants can e-mail speacnnt [at] indiana [dot] edu to check status.
